Damn Janis was a Miami-based rock band made up of four students (Kyle Skarshaug, Mike Ramos, Aaron Bissoondial, and James Hasell) from the University of Miami. Formed in the Summer of 2020, this band’s purpose is to use their diverse musical experiences to spread joy and community. With roots in classic rock, gospel and blues, the band pulls from a wealth of influences to create a fresh, unique sound. Combining infectious groove with singer-songwriter sensibilities, Damn Janis aims to make music that moves you in more ways than one.

Loveseat

Loveseat is a new outfit based in Miami, FL comprised of Kyle Skarshaug, Aidan McCarthy, Vania Junco, Eva Hocchaus, Jaime Fernandez, and Bennett Wyler. An eclectic combination of the sextet’s collective influences, Loveseat lounges comfortably between the folk of The Roches, the alternative rock of Radiohead, and the indie sounds of The Flaming Lips.

Solo projects

Kyle Skarshaug draws on a range of influences ranging from alternative and indie rock, American folk and songwriter, and jazz to create a sound sure to captivate audiences of all backgrounds and musical preference. Skarshaug’s music touches a wide range of emotions for the lyrically minded listener while keeping the musical fiend enticed with a sharp melodic sense and grooves to make you move. Raised on artists like Foo Fighters, Cage the Elephant, Jackson Browne, Jason Isbell and Stevie Wonder, Skarshaug’s unique brand of rock will leave audiences of all ages reminiscing on the sounds of their youth while frantically searching for their next new muse.
